Every year, dance enthusiasts from all over Sweden gather in Karlsholme Folkets Park in Mariestad for Stora Folkparksdansen, an annual dance festival held on the third weekend of August. In 2025, the festival will take place on August 15–16, marking the perfect end to the summer dance season before the indoor autumn season begins.
A Celebration of Swedish Dance Culture
Since its inception in 2010, Stora Folkparksdansen has grown into a beloved tradition, attracting dancers and music lovers who enjoy Sweden’s finest dansband in a vibrant, open-air setting. The event features two days of non-stop dancing on two dance floors, the Rotundan and Jubileumsteatern, where some of Sweden’s most popular dance bands take the stage.
